I like a lot of things. Normal things, unusual things. Things people would never expect me to like. But out of all things I like, good and bad, you know what I like the most? You.
“Breathe, my friend. You are not old, you are young. You are not a mess, you are normal. Extraordinary, perhaps. In the blink of an eye your life will change. And it will continue to change for decades to come. Enjoy it, embrace it…be grateful for the ride. You are not old, you are young. And faith will get you everywhere. Just you wait.”
People always think I get everything I want in life. Reality check: notevenclose. But I do work hard for everything I have. It’s just that I don’t vent about bad shit or hardships over but rather value everything that’s positive I have in my life because I’m deeply grateful for everything I have, everything I do, and everyone I have in my life. Basically, even when I’m really feeling the lowest of lows or have awful things going on (which yes, there’s been a lot of.) My iced coffee is always half full. Life’s too short to dwell on rough times because I know someone out there always has it harder.
“..make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservation, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life you will see its full meaning and its incredible beauty.”
While burning a bridge, I wish people would considered how long it takes to build that bridge back up again… And that once/if it’s back, it’s never the same as it was before. Chose your words, friends, and actions wisely.
