I was with my high school batch mates and we were eating when it was announced in the news that it was going to be the end of the world. We didn’t know what to do. We didn’t know where to hide. But someone said that there’s a place down the road where we can seek refuge. Where we can possibly escape death. If it was possible. We mustered enough guts to finish what we were eating, we were even joking around, reminiscing our youthful moments a couple of years ago. After eating, the person (I don’t even know where he came from) who suggested that we go to this house invited us to ride the bus on our way to the place. And so we did. The bus was full and I was just standing near the door. When I closed it, I felt it. I felt that death was coming for us.
We reached our destination. It was a beautiful. Breathtaking. It was like the Chateau Challain in the Loire Valley in France. It felt safe. We all roamed around. The boys went into the forest but I don’t recall where the other girls went. I was walking into the long pathway that would lead to the door of the chateau. And then it rained. We usually get happy when it rains but that kind of rain, felt very different. I started to see a lot of faint, white images of people running in the forest, to the gates and through the walls. Yes, through the walls. I’m no clairvoyant so that instance frightened me. I started running to the door of the chateau as it started to rain harder and harder as I ran faster. The image of a lean man and a woman registered into my eyes and they welcomed me with a warm smile which meant something like: “Don’t worry, you are safe now.”
I went inside the chateau without my high school batch mates and I didn’t even bother looking for them because when I got inside, I saw one of my closest friends in the office. She got wet in the rain, too, so the priest, who was assisting the kids inside, advised us to take a bath so we won’t get sick. I was holding the hands of my friend and I vowed not to let it go.
The chateau looked like a resort inside. There were swimming pools, people sunbathing under the sun (although it was raining outside), and the usual activities you see during the summer. Right then and there, I have confirmed that it was indeed a safe place wherein death cannot touch us.
When my friend and I were about to take a bath, there were guards in the bathroom, saying that the killer on the loose was inside the chateau so they have to perform an inspection just to make sure that we weren’t armed or something of that sort.
A lot of girls were taking a bath in the bathroom as well but I’ve let my friend take a bath first because I want to make sure that she’ll be safe. I stayed outside the bathroom, waiting for her to come out. After 5 minutes or so, she went out in one piece. When it was my turn to take a bath, I asked her to wait for me as well because I’m scared to be there alone with a bunch of people I don’t know, not to mention, the killer at large.
I stood under the shower with my eyes open (to make sure my friend won’t leave me) and my friend was just standing a couple of inches away from me. I suddenly noticed that the bathroom became silent, unlike a couple of minutes ago, it was alive with noises from different girls talking. After a few minutes of savoring the water, I heard a girl say to the guard: “There’s something wrong with the heater in those showers.” The guard responded: “Which one?” I heard footsteps and I heard the girl singing. “It seems to be working fine!” The guard blurted out. After that, it was silence. Then my friend was gone. I peeked out and saw the guard laying on the floor, lifeless, water streaming on him inside the bathroom. I didn’t know what to do. My friend was out of sight in a matter of seconds, the guard who was supposed to protect us was dead as well. I went out of the bathroom in an instant and I ran really fast on my way back to the priest to tell him what happened.
I had an idea who was the killer. “I know her.” “I have to get out of here.” were the thoughts running in my head.
Low and behold, a girl from the office stopped me from running and said: “Hey, where’s your boyfriend?” with the usual enthusiastic, perky voice that she has. I just said: “I don’t know.” not letting her interrupt me from doing what I’m about to do. “Let’s go look for him!” When she said that, I looked into her eyes, saw my life flashed back in slow motion, saw every intricate detail in her eyes and I noticed it was yellow. She was holding my arm. I told her: “Can I just change to my favorite princess dress before you kill me?” She just smiled at me.
Then I woke up because it was too cold and I wasn’t hugging my teddy bear. I hate dreams like this.
P.S.
I dream about fashion even if I’m about to die. Haha.
